Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a disease process where the pressure inside the eye is so great that it damages the Optic nerve inside the eye affecting your peripheral vision. We do not know what causes this disease but there are various surgical and pharmaceutical remedies that either increase the outflow or decrease the production of fluid in the eye. Digital Retinal Photography, Visual Field testing, Intra Ocular Pressure testing and Optical Coherence Tomography are all necessary in order to diagnose, manage, and treat this sight threatening disease. It is important to test for increases in the pressure on every comprehensive eye exam. We have all the tools to monitor and treat you if you are diagnosed with the disease.
